IC-M31

How exciting. Common sense has prevailed & I’ve bought an Icom IC-M31 handheld VHF radio for £85 plus postage, which hasn’t got any of the sexy features (digital calling, panic buttons …) but will more than fulfill my needs. Mind you I might have bought one of these babies if I’d spotted it. It’s sitting forlornly in the kitchen, vainly listening to channel 16 and not hearing very much, which is exactly what I’d expect in the middle of Derbyshire. I’ll take it with me next time out & see what happens near water.
